Wire-Sculptured Jewelry Using Sterling Silver And Gold Wire.

A Little Background

Welcome to our website.  I hope that you enjoy looking at, and possibly purchasing, our beautiful custom designed wire sculptured jewelry.

I have been designing jewelry since October 2009. I had always enjoyed wearing jewelry, but never thought about designing anything myself. I happened to be scanning the television channels and came upon The Jewelry Channel. They were advertising a DVD series about making jewelry. Just on a whim, I ordered one.

When I received the DVD set, I began by watching the video on stringing beads. I ordered some beading supplies and also some other instructional books. I made three beaded necklaces and enjoyed the experience very much. Then I watched the video on wire sculpture. I immediately knew that was where I needed to be. I invested in some practice wire, cabochons and gemstones, and off I went.

Learning wire sculpture is different than doing beading. If I made a mistake beading, I could just unstring the beads and start over. With wire sculpture, if I made a mistake, I had to throw away the wire and start fresh. So, I wasted a lot of wire - which is the main reason to learn this art on the cheaper wires like brass or copper wire.

After working with the practice wire for several weeks, my husband and friends convinced me to start working with sterling silver. I'll tell you, I was shaking the entire time I worked on that first sterling silver piece. But, it came out great. I went through the same anxiety  when I did my first gold piece, but now work with gold regularly.

My husband, James, supports me totally in this new endeavor. He is an avid photographer and bought a new lens for his camera so that he could take better pictures of my designs. As you look at the photographs of my designs on the website, I am sure you will agree that his skill as a photographer has added much to the beauty of each piece of jewelry. We also included a photo gallery of some of our favorite places to visit.

I continue to learn through various videos, electronic tutorials, and books. I am amazed at the beauty and skill shown by some of the wire artists on the internet. Truly talented people. As I grow in both technique and design, I hope to increase my website to include bracelets and rings. I am a member of The International Guild of Wire Jewelry Artists. In February 2010, I attended the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show. While there, I purchased many tantalizing gemstones, cabochons and other wonderful items which will be seen on this website soon, transformed into beautiful pendants, necklaces, and earrings. Also, I was a finalist in the 2011 Jewelry Television Design Contest.
